Destination: Lake Entrance, Australia
The evening I spent at Lakes Entrance is one of the most beautiful evenings of my last year's road trip. Driving from Batemans Bay, my husband and I were exhausted by the time we reached Lakes Entrance. Our hunt for a good restaurant took us to the Floating dragon. We thought of quickly finishing our dinner but as the sun slowly descended down the horizon, the surrounding beauty changed our mind.
The lake turned orange while gorgeous Black swan leisurely swam near our table. It was indeed a betwitching sight, peaceful and romantic. The lovely waitress even lit a candle on your table. Such a sweet gesture!
Waking up early in the morning, my husband decided to go for a run while I walked around the Esplanade, clicking pictures and watching black swans.
After checking out of the motel, we drove to Jemmy's point to get a bird's eye view of the snaking channels at Lake Entrance.

ReplyDeleteStunning views. I love the last shot, and how the various canals go out and reach the open sea. Really works well in the photo, and leads the eye nicely. Love it!

ReplyDeleteSuch a shame I discovered your blog just now! Wonderful photos here and I love the title of the site :) I am a postcard collector who blogs about postcards for the A-Z challenge. I am gonna check your entries for the past alphabet letters after posting this ;-)
ReplyDeleteThat is one picturesque area.
ReplyDeleteStunning pictures. Looks so tranquil.
ReplyDeleteI love that you are highlighting places from the south...my favourite areas by far! :)
ReplyDeleteLovely as ever!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful pictures! What colours! The contrast of the first two and the rest - yellow, orange, black VS blue, green and white - simply gorgeous :D

Beautiful as always :)
ReplyDeleteI'm always enthralled by reflections in lakes. So inspiring and peaceful.
ReplyDeleteLovely shots - I love the early morning light esp. I've only been to Lakes Entrance twice - both in the height of summer. It's nice to see what it looks like without a crowd of people everywhere.
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for this post! I hope you'll come share at this week's Wordless Wednesday (on Tuesday) here:

Ok, if I haven't said this already (though I thought I have), I will say it now (or again): Raj, your pictures are so postcard perfect, I truly think you could sell them as postcards. Earn some money while you travel and/or FOR your travels! ;) <3
ReplyDeleteThere is only one place in the world -that I know- that is called Lake Entrance ;-)
ReplyDeleteBeen there and your lovely photos bring up good memories! Thank you :-D
