Sunset at Sea Cliff Bridge, Sydney

Ensanguining the skies

How heavily it dies

Into the west away;

Past touch and sight and sound

Not further to be found,

How hopeless under ground

Falls the remorseful day.”

Hello there. Today, let’s walk along the marvellous Sea Cliff Bridge, and watch the sky burst into purple and amber hues.

Bald hill is located an hour drive from Sydney city, from where the view of snaking bridge along the coast is spectacular. Sunsets in Sydney never fail to amaze me. We were driving back from Nan Tien Temple, when we decided to take the Lawrence Hargrave drive. I was there by 5pm (the sunset time in Sydney), just in time to catch the riot colors.

Towards the east, the horizon was slowly turning pinkish. It was like watching a huge canvas of blue sea and pink horizon.

While, in the same moment, the western sky was lighted up in all shades of yellow.

If you are around Sydney, do not miss to drive down Sea Cliff Bridge. Keep a watch for the Shoe Tree.

  1. Recently I walked across the Sydney Harbour Bridge at dusk, and all I could think was how 'pink' everything looked…it must be a southeast coast phenomenon. I'm yet to discover the Shoe Tree. Beautiful photos! Happy Skywatching!

  2. Absolutely gorgeous sky shot! Panoramic and majestic!

    Happy Week to you,

  3. Wow, those views are really stunning with those clouds and sunset colors, quite lovely indeed!

  4. The Shoe Tree?! Now, I would LOVE to see a picture of that! Me being a tree-lover and hugger after all! 😉 Your photos are lovely as usual Raj. 🙂 I so often notice baby blue and baby pink evening sky: so pretty! <3
