Cathedral of Light

Cathedral of Lights at The Royal Botanic Garden Sydney was my favorite installation this year. As a part of 3 week festival of lights, this 70 meter tunnel illuminated by tens and thousands of LED lights was placed along the waterside, few minutes away from the iconic Opera House.

I absolutely loved the idea and I could see every one being excited about this gorgeous piece of art.

Artist: Mandylights (Richard Neville (United Kingdom))

Collaborators: Daniel Mercer (Australia) / Shane Radcliffe (Australia) / Andy Romanowski  (Poland)

"The artists draw the analogy that, just like a strong community or congregation, the sculpture is made up of many smaller parts that work together to achieve a stronger, unified output." Source Vivid Sydney Website

Vivid Sydney 2016 is over and I hope they come back with a similar concept next year too. As a part of the celebration hundreds of creative pieces were placed in and around Sydney, attracting thousands of tourists. Check out the sails over Opera House and the fountain at Martin Place.
