Walk with me today, in a secret garden. A garden with gushing waterfall, serene lake and flowing cascade where willows are caught in the wind and large Koi swim endlessly.
Nestled between tall buildings, is this beautiful garden called Chinese Garden of Friendship. I chanced upon it while I was looking for a weekend getaway. Situated at Darling Harbour, Sydney (nearly 10 minutes away from Townhall station) , it’s a gorgeous place to spend some quality time. I saw kids with their parents exploring the place, understanding the various monuments, a newly wedded couple capturing memories, a family dressed in rented traditional costumes posing and clicking non stop.
And why not, how can one not fall in love with this peaceful and magical place.
The garden is modelled based on the private gardens of Ming Dynasty. It was opened in the year 1988.
A large circular portal called Moongate is a traditional element of the garden.
After walking up the stone path, along the cascade, I looked down. The view was absolutely captivating. Ohh!! I would love to live in a house, surrounded by such beauty!
Can you see a cute little plastic money hanging down from the branch? The garden also has a teahouse, where you can munch on delicious dumplings.

Lovely pics and such a pretty garden. I visited Sydney in 1988 and if I recall it was either being built or had recently been built then. I love Chinese and Japanese gardens.
Yeah, according to Wiki it was still under construction. Maybe it's time for another visit 🙂
