By the Waterfront, in the Rain

It's been raining for almost two weeks in Sydney, the sun would peek in for few hours, before the thunderclouds chase it away. But then, I love the rain and how everything looks so clean and refreshing.

Since I didn't want to spend my weekend cooped up inside, my husband and I decided to go on a long drive to Gosford and have lunch by the waterfront. Dark clouds followed us and blinding rain on the highway made me wonder if this was a good idea.

But as soon as I had my Salmon salad and battered Flathead, it was all worth the effort.

Thankfully, the clouds had stopped pouring when we parked near the Waterfront.

And look who was there to greet us!! Now that's a really big Pelican.

I watched the fog slowly envelop the water surface... It looked so surreal.

But the fog brought the rain back.
Trying a #followmeto photograph :)

And soon it was pouring !! That's when we decided to head home.

Love these outings in the weekend. It helps me to disconnect from the virtual world and spend some quality time with my husband. Besides we both get an opportunity to indulge in our favorite hobbies - travelling, photography and good food. I feel fortunate to live in a place which is surrounded by such amazing sights.

  1. Hey, Crazy Little Girl, I like your photos of your travels around Sydney. Looks so picturesque. What a cute pelican! Sounds like the rain didn't dampen your spirits. I hope I make it to Australia one day. It sure is far from Canada though. A five hour flight from here to Vancouver and then 15 hours to Australia. UGH! I thought going to Europe was bad!

  2. Travelling to beautiful locales and following your passions with hubby is a great way to spend weekends. Great going, Raj! And you truly live in a gorgeous place!

  3. It feels like it's suddenly raining all around the world at the same time!

What beautiful pictures. That followmeto is so cute!

  4. Beautiful pics, esp. loved that Followmeto picture! its raining here too..and all I want to do is cuddle up inside a comforter!

  5. I love your zest for life Rajalekshmi...God Bless!

  6. Lovely phtos, Raj. It is raining here too. And very very windy. :)

  7. I enjoyed these photos - particularly the one with the Pelican. And of course the followme photo.

  8. That is a really large pelican - not sure I'd have been so close :) #ourworldtuesday

  9. Great story to go with your photos! You have the rain and we currently have extreme humidity and no rain.

  10. Some great photos here! That pelican looks gigantic!! I also like the last photo a lot.

I absolutely love reading comments, so don't be shy ... write something down :)
