Wanderlust Tales : Xiaolongbao #atozchallenge

Dumplings have always been my favorite food. During college days, I used to explore the streets of Gar Ali (Jorhat, India) to find the best shop that sold delicious Momos. In Assam and most parts of India, Dumplings are popularly known as Momos. ‘Momo Hut’ was our favourite hangout place, where both pork and chicken momos were served with extremely spicy chilli sauce and clear broth soup. You could actually hear the customers sniffing and asking for more napkins. But that never stopped anyone from gorging on a plate of delicious steamed dumplings. I was heart broken when I went back few years back only to find the place closed down.

My search for finding yummy dumplings continued in Sydney too. With so many options available I thought my search would never end, until I stepped into Din Tai Fung and ate their Pork and Chicken Xiao Long Bao … the dumplings with soup inside.

Yes, all the goodness of the world packed in one round ball. That was it… I thought I would never fall in love again, but those dumplings have now found a place in my heart and stomach. If only I was Po I would have stuffed myself like this.

The Taste of Shanghai, a restaurant near Din Tai fung, serve Xiao Long Bao just as delicious but at a cheaper rate. This restaurant has now become one of my favorite Friday-lunch place.

Along with ClaireParul and Shaliniwe have formed an Unconventional Alliance with A to Z co-host Pam Margolis as the ring leader … all set to rock the party
